FEES FOR GP CONSULTATION

You will initially undergo a comprehensive hour long assessment by a GP which will include a full medical history and examination. A Long Covid panel of blood tests together with an ECG (heart trace) will be undertaken. Depending on whether additional tests are required (for example a chest X-ray) the cost is likely to be £400-£500.

FEES FOR CONSULTANT SPECIALISTS

if you are referred to a single specialist, then the fee for that consultation is likely to be in the region of £120-£250. Your specialist will be able to advise you prior to your appointment.

For most patients however, multiple symptoms will be present and following discussion it may become apparent that a more bespoke approach is required including multiple specialists including physiotherapy. In this situation, you will be referred to a General Physician who will oversee your care and track your progress during the programme. All patients will be discussed in a Multi-disciplinary Team meeting that will take place monthly. The cost for initial consultations with a specialist including the General Physician will be in the region of £160-£200 with subsequent follow up appointments costing £80-£120. The cost of physiotherapy will be in the region of £60-75/session. Any additional costs such as specialist investigations will be discussed with you.

WILL MY PRIVATE MEDICAL INSURANCE COVER THIS?

Most private insurance companies will over the costs of specialist consultations and in some cases physiotherapy as well. We would recommend that you contact your insurance provider to clarify prior to attending appointments.
